My name is ioreth, and I'm editing your entry on australian politics - A668414 - which is a fantastic summary, and probably the most informative, thorough, and interesting entry I've edited. congratulations! I was wondering - several places in the entry you wrote 'need link' and I was hoping that, as you're a bit better-versed in things australian than I, you might be able to help in finding them. if I don't hear from you in a few days I suppose I will be forced to get off my butt myself. anyways, great job!

thanks for that - you're probably aware that I had some problems getting the h2g2 server to accept the article in the first place, carrying the links that I subsequently left out. It would be helpful to me to be able to check that you've linked to the sites that I intended, but I won't have access to internet until next Monday (14.01.02), so if that's not time-critical I'll get back to you then. Otherwise, I guess I'll just live with it!
Cheers,

Ioreth, I've updated the One Nation paras under political terminology, due to the resignation of Pauline Hanson yesterday. See my unedited version - A657119. I know that, once submitted for peer review the editors are under no obligation to accept revisions, but this does bear on the accuracy of the article. It would be great if you could adopt the revised paras, but I won't die in a ditch if you can't!
Cheers for now,
Guran

she resigned? interesting news. I will hop over to the unedited version and check it out. you could see what I've got right now at A668414, except for the strange fact that it is at the moment down for moderation on a broken link, yet the link is fine. I am trying to get the editors to fix it; meanwhile your entry is in good hands....

I note that the entry is now "pending". I've had a read, and like what you've done - there are some valuable edits in there, which I was obviously too close to see! Nice job, and I look forward to it appearing on the front page!
Cheers,

Guran,
Superb entry on Aussie politics. Well done.
Your page refers to 'The pointy end' of the public service. Oxymoronic perhaps??? Being somewhere towards the blunt end myself (I could chuck a half brick from where I'm sitting and reach parliament house) I am intrigued by your place of work!
cheers

Ragnor, Ragnor, Ragnor. Talk about coincidences, I can see Parliament from my desk, if I turn around in my seat. Let's see, I have a number of bosses to whom I am variously responsible, and in order they are: Peter Hamburger, Max Moore-Wilton, Paul McClintock and John Howard. Can you guess exactly where I work?

How interesting,
My bosses (in no particular order)are 'Gorgeous' George Atkin, James Wise, David Ritchie, Ashton Calvert and Alexander Himself. Obviously I'm far lower in the food chain than you are. Nay, I'm in a different food-chain entirely. A sort of phyto-planckton to your lesser chicken-hawk.
Probably best for you to not acknowledge my existance should we met in person... could lead to questions at the club.

oooh, Middle East, eh? Guess what my university major was in ... give up? okay, it was Middle East politics. Indeed, I was at uni with a number of current DFAT officers, one of whom was 3rd, then 2nd sec at the Harare High Commission in the mid-90's. circles within circles within circles ...
Cheers,

Actually, the other half of the branch - Africa. I'm the Zimbabwe boffin. Let's not enter into a discussion thereon via this medium!
As for circles within circles, an very apt description of both Canberra and the public sector!

You're the Zimbabwe boffin? Huh! Going to CHOGM? I was going to go when it was last year, but the new date clashes with my budget duties, so I can't do it any more. They were actually going to assign me, as a delegation liaison officer, to ... you guessed it ... the Zimbabwe delegation. Honestly, it doesn't get a whole lot spookier. I think we may have actually met, downstairs here at PM&C.
