Journal #4: Giving a whole new meaning to the word "trilogy"

"Alright everybody, now here we go..."
-- Hampton the Hampster, The Hampster Dance

Finally I've got some time to make a journal entry!

This week's been pretty busy, as in loads of homework, loads of school, loads of bad jokes and loads of conversation threads to catch up on. Therefore, I've had to resort to a pretty lame subject this week...

"Why does my computer boot up five seconds faster if I use Litestep as compared to the Windows Explorer shell"

... Actually I think I'll do something else, 'cause I've probably lost half my readership now smiley - sadface.

Instead, we're going to talk about something else. I don't know what, we just are. Therefore, you can safely ignore the next few paragraphs, cause they're all complete rubbish. As was my english work.

In fact, I might as well just store this and make another journal entry when I'm in a less depressive mood.

CUL8R,
Axe

Please Wait...

This system is currently scouring the surrouning area for a supply of lemon-soaked paper napkins. We apologise for the inconvenience...

Oh no, not another one

Another week, another journal entry. This one'll be shorter than the last one (which was way too long), 'cause I've only got about 10 minutes before I'm going to eat my smiley - burger, which is more important smiley - smiley. Anyway, life's getting back to normal again, so I haven't got much to put.

I've edited another three entries again this week, and I've almost finished the forth. The last one's about Quadratic Expressions, and the author's brought up some interesting points about the layout of the equations in the entry. It turns out that GML hasn't got an inline monotype tag for general use (the tag is for programming code only), so we've decided to use .

The other four entries from last week have been edited by the Comm.Editors, so I've got to update my Nick again smiley - biggrin. Anyway, no problem, just some more confusion for the poor end-user that wants to know who I am.

Nothing much else to report really. I still can't use hotmail at school because of the proxy server, and my sys-admin is even threatening to block h2g2 (grr...), but I think that I've got around that smiley - whistle.

Anyway, I'll post again next week!

Journal v2.0

Well, it looks like that time of the week again! THe sun's shining, the birds are singing and I'm sitting in a small room typing this into a computer in the hope that someone'll actually read it. I really think that I should get out more.

Anyway, I've sorted out the subediting issue, and I've got a batch of four to edit. In fact, I've already finished with two of them, "Cascading Style Sheets" which was a pleasure to edit, mainly because the author actually responded to my notes for once.

The other entry was "Dwarf Throwing" (smiley - laugh), which everyone at school had a good laugh about, and so it seems did Anna. This time, the author didn't seem to want to talk, so I edited the entry and submitted it. Oh well. It can go in my collection of strange guide entries, along with "How to make an atom bomb" and the like.

And now I come to the strange and weird part of my journal, the part where I say things that are so amazing (how do you spell that word) that they've just got to be real. This week is the Interconnectedness of All Things, as told in "Dirk Gentley's Holistic Detective Agency", which I borrowed from the library on Wednesday.

Basically (I really should find some other words to put at the start of paragraphs), I think, having read the book and observed Life in it's entirity (oh god, another typo) for a few days, that Something is going on.

What it is going on is a different matter, but I will explain the Something bit now. Have you ever wondered, for example, how you know when someone is watching you, staring at you or reading what you're typing into your journal over your shoulder? In fact, wait a minute...

*turns round*

Go away, I'm trying to write personal stuff here!

*turns back*

Sorry about that, anyway, where was I up to? Oh yeah, the staring thing. That's got to be suspicious though, hasn't it? Another thing is that feeling of déja-vue (or whatever it's called). I get it all the time, and I'm starting to suspect that Something has something to do with it.

To this end, I'm going to start testing myself to see if I'm making all this up. Then, I'm going to write a small theory (probably in my journal next week). Then I'm going to do my homework (grr...). If that's not enough, I might finish the other two entries on my list (maybe).

Anyway, I'll have to go now 'cause I've bee writing this offline and my mum's just answered the phone so I've got to go and pester her again smiley - sadface.

*turns round*

Oh, and stop reading this over my shoulder please.

*turns back*

See you again next week!
