Actually I haven't read all your recent butter-numbered journal entries, because there's just too much backlog. But since you appeare to be on a baking/butter roll (one might even say, on a buttered roll smiley - silly) I thought you might appreciate this butter cookie recipe that I prepared just a few days ago.

Because it's very very delicious, and also very easy (the only slightly out of the ordinary ingredient is good-quality maple syrup, which personally I think should be in every kitchen anyway, because maple syrup smiley - drool - and you don't even have to roll and then cut the dough, it's much easier as a slice&bake) and also very delicious.

Now.... how did I know this message was for me... On just reading the subject line? smiley - laugh

My journal has gone very buttery.... and the butter just seems to go on smiley - laugh You've probably not missed a great deal in the backlog, TBH smiley - laugh

oo... biscuit recipie... I'll have to have a look at that, maybe something I could make for the Christmas period smiley - drool
I rarely keep much sweet stuff in the house (I think there's honey, but i put that in soem of the bread I make ) but I'm sure, maybe even my nextdoor shop, or at very least the little supermarket at the top of the road, might have maple syrup smiley - drool gosh.... I can't even recall the last time I had any! smiley - run

Heh, what better way than butter to get your attention?

Knew you'd appreciate this, anyway. smiley - biggrin

You should absolutely get some maple syrup. Grade B, if you can find it (it's darker, so has a more pronounced flavour), but grade A is fine too. It lasts pretty much forever in the fridge, and, well, I hear some people like to pair it with bacon, which as I recall you have some fondness of smiley - winkeye, so I guess that might be interesting, but haven't tried it (however, it _is_ a very nice way to add a bit of a sweet note to meat or salmon etc.).
And I suspect these biscuits would make great Christmas treats (I definitely plan to send some to friends). There's something very wintry about them.
You can even make the dough and roll it into logs and keep them in the freezer, until you're ready to slice and bake.
