Rev Nick - dead man walking (mostly)

How-ever, over 35 years of military involvement, I have had no choice but to write quite a lot of documents that are
painfully, boringly plain and clear to the lowest possible denominator

As a "from-scratch" help-page author, I am probably not the best candidate, but I can certainly throw in help with 2nd
readings, proofings, etc. And trying to clarify things that become a jumble after too many hours at the key-board for
the zombified author.

Now that IS useful, Nick. smiley - ta

What are you like with Guide ML - if we pass you some things for sense- and sanity-checking could you turn them into GML too?

It's been atleast 6 or more years since I worked up a PS from scratch, so I'd be quite rusty. Common 'paragraph' separations and blocks are okay, but much like headers, bullets, etc ... Not so much. I could brush up some, I suppose from some of Laura's (Unconformity then) workshop pages.

But not for atleast another week or so. The first few days of the new year will be busy with the monthly creation of a newsletter that I publish for our Wing (AFAC)

Mrs Zen

It's more likely to be February.

Maybe I should write about the work that goes into drafting the help pages. smiley - bigeyes

I know that the Beeb help pages spanned and spanned and cross linked, an average Jane or Joe could go cross-eyed before they found what might seem related to a first query. It's not an easy thing, making a useful manual on paper, I imagine it is far more complicated with nesting of pages.

At your convenience, after the new year needs, etc, ... Drop me a note as to product-builds, where to find them, browse and see if I think that I can help? Something that I did learn a couple of decades ago, I can see where I can be a help, and also easily see where I can not. I won't blow hot air as to how fab and great I might be. I know my reaches, and I know some of my own limits

Nick,
currently Magwitch is working on coordinating help page updates. Would you like to contact her and help her?

I'll drop her a note on FB. When the offer was made, I was still in an indeterminate state of unemployment.
I am well back there, excessively 'whelmed' (thought not overhwelmed) from the build up of 11 months without
us actual workers. And my evenings are busy enough dealing with the business needs of a small town marina
and our own chapter of the Air Force Association of Canada.

In brief(er), I'll see if I still have time to offer

Good luck on the job, and see what Magwitch needs, and you can cope with.
Thanks!
