Well, I never. If I'd thought, 23 years ago, when I sat up past my bedtime listening to those wonderful first broadcasts on the old Home Service (wasn't it?) of something called The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, that one day I'd be a researcher for the Guide itself, I'd have... hang on, I've lost the thread of this sentence now.
