Shame on h2g2.
I don't know for sure, but probably in the pool. There are these mean, sneaky water bugs. They swim up and bite you.
I don't think it would have been a problem but it got me in the armpit. I only noticed the bump later. I think that's why I had an allergic reaction and a low-grade fever.

I read somewhere years ago that to find allergies etc, the doc's put small drops of various chemicals etc on a persons arm and watched for reactions. Could not a doc do the same for you and then make a chart out of sorts, showing a scale of which are NOT beneficial to you ?

Well, it would be expensive - I can't afford this right now - and a long, drawn-out process, and ultimately, not really useful.
The bug business is just the norm around here. Bugs happen.
Now, if it had had a ring around it, I'd have gotten to the doctor. That's something serious.

Good one.
The pool has steps in the shallow end. I'd always rather walk in than jump, myself. I'm a good swimmer, but not much of a diver.
A long time ago, I had a swimming class in college. They took us up to the 10-metre platform and told us to step off. I went first.
It was amazing - like flying.
But I went feet first, no diving stuff.

I can't swim
and at the local baths/pool in town. My mates threw me in at the deep end - not knowing I couldn't swim
a mass panic on trying to find me when I didn't surface
I popped up for a gulp and then walked on the bottom and after getting the odd gulp, arrived at the shallow end unseen
and sat on the side watching them searching the deep area
