many things that you get on NHS prescription can be bought cheaper over the counter...

The current prescription charge is £8.40 per item (£16.80 per pair of elastic hosiery). A three monthly PPC is £29.10 and could save you money if you need more than three prescribed items in three months.

Yeah, that's a universal problem.

The solution, of course, is to retrain doctors to use holistic medicine. Which ain't gonna happen.

Sure. There was no health insurance at all when I was born - I forget what it cost my parents, wasn't much, about 200 dollars I think, but my mom had the receipt. smiley - rofl

I think back then, most people didn't go to the doctor unless it was serious.

For instance: when I was 18 months old, I took a header off my high chair on a Sunday morning. Knocked myself out cold.

Parents - young, first kid - jumped in the car and drove to the nearest hospital. By the time they got there, I woke up crying. They decided I wasn't dead, so okay, and drove back home. Didn't even go inside. smiley - rofl

Which might sort of explain me...smiley - winkeye
