In their original environment, the Jedis were remarkably tough. It would take a lot to do them in, there or here. Perhaps they inhabit multiple dimensions, and many are away in another dimension now, so they weren't at home when the census people called on them this time.

More likely there was a "dark disturbance in the Force". That of Lucas defecating on the original trilogy.

Jwf, I've been thinking. Since, as Hoovooloo suggests, you easily meet the criteria for Jediism [20 edited guide entries in 7 years], maybe you should try to organize a Church of the Jedi Knights in your country. You can choose whether to have the headquarters in Halifax or Cape Breton/Sydney or Antigonish [I had to lookup the spelling of that last one]. In dire emergencies, may be Yoda can come to your rescue. He's a remarkably feisty fighter when the chips are down....

That's another thing Lucas did that irritated me. I didn't want to see Yoda doing calisthenic Judo flips! He was a stoic master. A simple wave of his three fingered hand and Whoosh... problem solved.

Lucas did many, many things that irritated me. None of them involved Yoda, though. I would have liked the Star Wars movies better if more of the characters had been muppets.
