Replica England football shirts go on sale for £90, people get annoyed:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26826554
One footballer called it "appalling" and "taking the mickey", and I'm not surprised, he only earns £3.12 million a year so would only be able to buy almost 35 thousand of them each year.
The FA said it "is a not-for-profit organisation that puts £100m back into the game every year." Which'll be its share of the profits from these shirts and others, the rest will be going to Nike.
If you've not heard of Nike, they're a small clothing manufacturer based in the UK who only use locally sourced, high quality materials and champion above minimum wage salaries. Oh, no, hang on, that's not them is it? Nike are the massive multi-national corporation with an annual revenue in excess of $24.1 billion.
Okay sports fans, if you really are fed up with being taken for a ride, here's a suggestion:
Don't Buy The Shirt.
It's not a difficult or complicated thing, just don't give them your money. If you've got a kid who wants one, explain to them about how large multi-nationals are destroying competition and sports, and bleeding every dollar and pound they can get while fobbing the sports organisations off with a pittance as feel good media fodder.

Real fans will buy the shirt and wear it at every opportunity to demonstrate that they are real fans.
Still, £90 for a white t-shirt

When I were a lad, and played for my school team, we just wore a t-shirt the right colour.
Mind, we used to have to lick pitch clean wi' our tongues before 't match as well.

Considering that today is 1 April, I'm skipping a LOT of links today.
1 April just means the internet is even more annoying than usual.

I used to enjoy the more imaginative hoaxes and pranks, but now it's been turned into something obligatory and dull mostly. And some of the hoax news stories are just dumb which makes it very hard to differentiate against the normal "News" from the Daily Mail or Fox News.

A couple of days ago California was rattled by an medium strength
earthquake around 4.1 on the scale. Tonight (Tuesday) Chile was
hit with an 8.3 and the entire west coast of South America is under
a tsunami watch. Most people live on the coast and now everyone is
heading inland up into the hills. Traffic is snarling nastily.

Bad Hair Day?
A light-hearted story with potentially sinister undertones:

It's a short article, but hard to describe

Hilarious.
And I'm gobsmacked that nobody has asked for the 'Un'.
If I had sufficient hair, I'd definitely have one.

Tens of thousands of pounds have been raised for charity in the name of the runner who died at the London Marathon. He's not the first to die though, fatalities and many lesser complaints are common at such events. Shouldn't fund-raising be safer than this?

Thousands and thousands of people do fund raising activities each year. Strangely enough it's not actually that dangerous.

If you gather enough people in one place for one purpose, statistically it becomes likely that some are not going to survive the experience. I don't think the participants are at any great danger compared to the rest of us who spent the day up ladders, crossing roads, stepping on toys in the dark, etc.
At such events there is a great deal of support and medical equipment and experience available. People die none-the-less.
