Fancy knowing that!
Here's one for you:
Who wrote the play "Toad of Toad Hall"? If you don't know already, the answer may surprise you.

You can call me TC Posted Apr 21, 2016
He wrote the book. I have googled it so I won't say anything. But I think somewhere in the deep dark recesses of my memory I did know that. I think we even played it in drama at school.

I know the answer because Hong Kong Players did it some twenty years ago and have a note from the author on file!

A87766140 yes, but I was more upset at her thinking Einstein was an American astronomer, than not knowing it was Hubble.
Wow, AA Milne, I never would have got that. Pooh ()

when I left the studio I was told "late summer" - in other words they didn't know. I will get a fortnight's notice by email of the broadcast date. I have also noticed that sometimes the "coming up" bit on my Tivo box says the names of the contestants, which could also give me a clue.
Did anyone else notice how many astronomy questions were in last night's Chase?
Also, on "Tipping Point", one of the contestants was asked: "Beta Geminorum is the brightest star in which constellation?" I actually thought the question was going to be what is its common name and so I said Pollux. EH-ERRRRR! Luckily the contestant guessed "Gemini" and he was correct
Pollux is an orange giant star, the closest giant star to our own Sun. It is about 33 light years distant. It has an extrasolar planet in orbit, now named Thestias.
