This is my entry for Leonardo DaVinci. It was originally a speech that I wrote, just for fun. It might be helpful for anyone who want a brief biography on the dude.

Hello Magic_Beanstalk!
Welcome to Peer Review, and a very warm welcome to h2g2 as well
Thank you for submitting your first article well done! This is indeed a comprehensive entry on a huge subject!
Could you mention "Vitruvian Man" http://www.gfmer.ch/International_activities_En/Leonardo_anatomical_drawings.htm please? da Vinci was the first artist to get the human proportions exactly right, if I recall correctlyand a copy of it was sent out on a probe to the stars..
I'm sure all the peer reviewers here will help you shape your entry into acceptable guidelines (you could peruse the <./>writing-guidelines</.> while waiting for other reviewers to show up)
Thanks again for a great read, da Vinci is one of my favourite people from history
Annie

Hi Magic_Beanstalk and welcome and what Annie said /\ up there
This is a great topic for the Guide but it needs to fit the parameters first, so it would really help if you could read the guidelines. The first thing is that all this has to be in the third person. There are other places on h2g2 for entries written in the first person but the Edited Guide is quite specific.
I had to do the same when I wrote my first entry not too long ago. It only takes a minute to read it and we will all be right here ready to help you adjust and tweak so we can get you into the Guide

Excellent.
The personal bits at the start need to come out, but a good overview of the man - you may care to consider adding a "greatest achievements" bit, as a sort of timeline to his life, and also giving an oppotunity to link to entries on Mona Lisa or subamarines.

This is a great entry, and with tidying could become the Guide's entry on Da Vinci. THere are some bits you'll need to change:
1. Take out the first few lines which are about yourself.
2. Take out the reference to The Da Vinci Code, because (a) it is highly debatable whether it is a good book or not and entries are supposed to be balanced; and (b) it is not really about Leonardo Da Vinci so is irrelevant to this Entry.
The rest of the entry is very good, although I'd dispute what you say about barbecues and scissors. Since nobody ever used Leonardo's inventions, the world would be exactly the same if he hadn't invented them. Our present day barbecue and scissors were invented independently by other people.

Annie, I wasn't aware that Vitruvian man had been sent to the stars. Can you give me a reference for that?

Well, I thought Annie might've been referring to the Plaque sent out on Pioneer 10 - but the depiction was not Vitruvian Man in this case:

... and this site says that V.M was not sent out on Pioneerr 1 or 2 (there must've been a story going about that He was)

The da Vinci drawing was on a patch on Skylab Expedition 2
So you're all right

Da Vinci designed a remarkable bridge for the Golden Horn, the narrow strait of water that separates southern Istanbul from northern Istanbul. But it was never built because nobody believed it would stay up. Some Norwegians have now built a smaller version of the same bridge in Norway. It is really beautiful and an engineering marvel:

Interesting stuff! I agree with Gnomon, that refering to "The Da Vinci Code" is not a good idea; when I saw that, my instant reaction was to leave, but I'm glad I persevered.
You should rephrase "Leonardo was the first person to ever study anatomy."
For instance, "Susruta lived around 400 bc and is known as the "father of surgery" in India. He produced many illustrations of the body and its internal features, the digestive and cardiovascular systems in particular." -- from http://www.studentbmj.com/back_issues/0802/life/290.html

Don't worry guys! I'm back!
After 8 years, the prodigal son has returned to finish his work. I wrote the original entry when I was 13 so I apologize for... well... just about everything.
I've taken all your suggestions into account as I prepare my next entry. Nothing is more fulfilling than knowing I was a peer-reviewed author at 13
I promise: I will do Leonardo DaVinci justice in this Guide!
