Heh... it's odd how we make assumptions based on merely text discussions and the choices of user names.
I never would have guessed you were near retirement age.

Smudger, are you *required* to retire when you hit 65?

Congrats, Smudger
I've been procrastinating garden w*rk for days, but later today I'll receive some free and chili plants, so that forces me to go get some stuff

Today I expect to plant sunflower and zucchini seeds in peat pots. In mid-June, I will transplant them outside.

Tom Lehrer likes to joke that he went straight from adolescence into senility without passing through adulthood.
Fpr my part, I seem to passed into the land of typos

My facial hair did that. I couldn't grow any respectable facial hair well into my late 20's. Being a redhead, what did grow in wasn't very noticeable anyway. Finally in my mid 30's I grew a passable Van Dyke (goatee) but it came with grey hairs in.

I actually stopped work at the age of 50, as I was invalided out of the service with a back injury, that I got while training?

Only if the job requires I bend at the waist, kneel, walk more than a thousand meters, expose myself more than fifteen minutes to the sun, lift more than twenty pounds, do any kind of out of position work, or sit up in an upright position for more than fifteen minutes.
I'm getting to be downright decrepit.
