That is an amazing tree---you are lucky to be close to such astoinishing specimens. Thanks so much for the scale drawing--gives you an idea how huge that is. I think it is neat that the transplant worked so well. are there studies about how the native fauna adapted to these invaders---they are pretty hard to ignore after all?

Hi Elektra! Overall the bluegum plantations are devoid of wildlife, there's little undergrowth, and they don't make fruit or anything else the animals or birds can eat. But raptors such as redbreasted and other sparrowhawks do nest in these alien trees.
