What Is The Greatest Prog Album Of All Time?

Not even thinking about going there. That way lies insanity.

To see if there is anyone we haven't heard of on this thread and decide if they are any good.

Spent today mostly sitting on a crash barrier near Canning Town waiting for a blur of cyclists to come passed.
Bit more detail in my journal so only one Album appropriate.

I watched 'Peter Green, Man of the World' last night. Of the handful of Peter Green documentaries I've seen this is probably the best. Here's part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VC0DayWUY64 Follow the links for subsequent parts if you're interested.

Last week I watched another documentary called 'Godfather of British Blues'. When I first saw the title I thought it might be about Alexis Korner but it was actually about John Mayall. I could go either way on that one, but probably come down in favour of the former by a small margin.

Man of the world is the best documentary on Peter Green, I've seen, It was on Beeb4 a while ago.

Not music-related but certainly of some interest to old heads http://www.theguardian.com/books/quiz/2014/jul/17/quiz-can-you-identify-comics-by-their-covers

Bearing in mind that I'm no expert I was quite surprised and a little chuffed to get seven out of ten, although a few of them were incredibly easy even if you have only a passing knowledge of comics and graphic novels.

My working out:

1. Book number 1
Correct answer: Maus – Art Spiegelman
I recognise that cover although I've never read the comic.

2. Book number 2
Correct answer: Persepolis – Marjane Satrapi
You answered: Anya's Ghost - Vera Brosgol
A guess.

3. Book number 3
Correct answer: Watchmen – words by Alan Moore, art by Dave Gibbons
Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

4. Book number 4
Correct answer: V for Vendetta – words by Alan Moore, art by David Lloyd
If you don't recognise that you haven't been paying attention to the news for past couple of years.

5. Book number 5
Correct answer: Ghost World – Daniel Clowes
You answered: Fun Home – Alison Bechdel
No idea - a complete guess.

6. Book number 6
Correct answer: The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, volume 1 – words by Alan Moore, art by Kevin O'Neill
Well they do look quite extraordinary, don't they. And I've seen the film.

7. Book number 7
Correct answer: Bone, volume 1: Out from Boneville – Jeff Smith
You answered: The Sandman: Book of Dreams – Neil Gaiman
I've seen those figures before but I don't know where they're from, so a guess.

8. Book number 8
Correct answer: Jerusalem: Chronicles from the Holy City – Guy Delisle
An educated guess - it kind of looks like the walls outside Jerusalem.

9. Book number 9
Correct answer: Batman: The Dark Knight Returns – Frank Miller
Not too difficult with that silhouette of Batman clearly visible, really.

10. Book number 10
Crrect answer: Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life – Bryan Lee O'Malley
A very slightly educated guess

there is a new Yes album coming out (22/07/14)
A few samples on youtube don't sound too bad but mixed reviews

I quite like the bits I've heard, so might go and get a hard copy.
