Towel Day on 25 May is a tribute to the life and work of Douglas Adams. How are you and your towel celebrating?

I'll be squatting in a ditch doing a wildlife survey. As this will probably mean getting covered in mud and various denominations of dung, I will definitely have my towel with me!

I will be squatting *near* a ditch, or rather a fish pond that a friend of mine has. Last winter's snowdrifts caused all her fish to suffocate, so she wants help restocking.

Who's on pre-mod? I haven't noticed anyone being naughty lately.

By a strange twist of fate, Towel Day this year is also Memorial Day in the US.

I shall be flying my flag at half-staff until noon and attending the neighbourhood cook-out.

I will, of course, have my close by at all times.

So far, besides posting a couple of towel uses to FP sub-article, updating software and nursing Android through its current update related system ripples, next gardening, groundskeeping and housekeeping, right after a bath.

This being memorial Day, I put out a planter of red and white geraniums yesterday, with U.S. flags stuck in at both ends.

I missed it (hanging head in shame) but I did pass five odd looking people wearing Hitchhikers T-shirts and towels walking along Mill Rd in Cambridge.

Obviously it is a general cultural event here.
