Girls names ending in n... can anyone help?
Sho - employed again! Started conversation Jan 28, 2015
Pregnant colleague is looking for names for her impending daughter.
She would prefer something with a bit of a Celtic feel, ending in "n" because her sons both have name ending in N.
Her husband isn't keen on the current office favourite of Caitlin.
So - does h2g2 have any suggestions?

Maybe you could try to convince her that Cookeen is a Celtic name?
Or Canteen, Potheen, Umpteen, Mujahideen….

one of the caveats is that Celtic spelling is a bit... different to German or French spelling. So it needs to be something that does't look completely different written down to how it sounds.
Icy, I'm going to try her with Mujahideen...

I don't know if it is a good name though. The only person I know called Siobhan a pain in the bum.

I have always thought that the LOTR names, in particular the Elvish ones are rather Celtic.
Have we had Arwen? Earwen? Ivorwen? Luthien? Mairen? Melian? Morwen? Uinen?
I would suggest that Sauron may not be suitable for a girl. But you know.....these days......

Our boss called her daughter Arwen. So it's allowed in Germany.
The Welsh ones. A girl in my class at school had three sisters. They all had Welsh names: Bronwen, Cainwen, Earwin, (can't remember the other one, and I'm not sure about the spelling)
Doreen
Maureen
Kathryn
Karin
Maren
Anything with -Ann at the end
Marion
Susan
