I just opened the last of four boxes of candy I bought before leaving Edinburgh. This one is called "Butter Tablet". I had know idea what to expect.
The last thing I expected was to discover that a Scottish candy would be exactly like a Mexican one. Butter Tablet is exactly the same as "Leche Quemada". Leche quemada is often found for sale at the checkout counter at Mexican restaurants here in Texas.
