Kurisa Moya Nature Lodge, 2016

Willem made another visit to the forests around the Kurisa Moya nature lodge in South Africa. Here's what he found.

Forest Cabbage tree. The first photo shows a giant Forest Cabbage Tree…one of the dominant 'big trees' of the forest.
Fallen tree with new growth. The second shot shows a tree that had fallen over long ago but kept growing…it sprouted several new vertical trunks (visible on left of photo).
Praying mantis. The next photo shows a large praying mantis we found in the road!
Puffball fungi. The next one shows some delightful puffball fungi we found on a fallen, mossy trunk.
Canary Creeper flowers. The last shows some bright and cheerful Canary Creeper flowers! This is a vigorous climber found on forest margins.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
