I've put in an intro, but I'm not quite sure what people think should be included in it - ideas and criticism welcome
A few various other edits

I've only got a couple of comments at the moment.
I think I'd tweak footnote two, as stating 'world wars' and then following in a footnote with 'both' could be read as 'world wars (both)', implying that the UN sought to prevent both World Wars, when it didn't exist when they started.
Maybe change it to 'The UN has an enormous mandate, seeking to prevent wars, especially world wars, and improve the situation of humanity in numerous ways…'
I think I'd also try and incorporate footnote 10 (Pacific) into the text rather than have a footnote in a subheader.

Much obliged for the comments, all seem reasonable so shall add them in

Looking good to me - I like the introduction.
Have you thought about adding the Pacific footnote into the text rather than having it in the header?

I feel it works better as a footnote, I rewrote it as a text form but it looked a little odd, since it needed a complete sentence there, which given the short length of the rest of its content seemed a little odd.
If it's a just me thing I'll gladly reconsider - I'm an active footnote reader but I don't know whether most do that or not

I enjoy reading footnotes myself, but I try to limit them to no more than ten these days, as not everyone does...

I'm reading this again more thoroughly after having learned about the Organs. Another really useful Entry to help people understand more about global affairs
I like the phrasing you use to make things dramatic, and fortell things that happened later, but sometimes you use "would" when you mean "did", so it is confusing. Eg "A declaration would be pronounced," - I presume the declaration *was* pronounced.
"bound the Allies together to both do their utmost and forbade them from seeking individual peace with the enemy" - do their utmost to what?
Footnote 3 - the addition of France meant there were 3 Western nations and only 2 Eastern nations?
Can you give an example of a body that Article 22 created?
Footnote 9 - Taiwan calls itself the Republic of China?
What is the exception to Chapter VIII?
'why doesn't the UN do anything about a country abusing its citizens' - is that linked to Chapter X and hence saying that reports can be written, but powers to enforce the recommendations are limited? http://www.centreforwelfarereform.org/news/uk-in-breachhuman-rights/00287.html#.V3Kw3ES0f3g.twitter
I notice some of your headers are all in capitals, so you could tweak them to be consistent with the others, or the sub-editor could do it.

I think I usually use would in that sense rather than was because I often take the beginning point (the gathering together etc) and so everything that happens during the event is still "later" and thus "would".
Obviously, while technically correct, this can be a little odd - so can be adapted as works.
I chose "utmost" in the sense of "be the best you can be" - in all areas, but the declaration has it in the sense of pouring resources and effort against the Axis powers.
"do their utmost resisting the Tripartite pact" ?
Footnote 3 - regarding the Security Council, yes
The GA created UNICEF in December 1946
Footnote 9 - yes, Taiwan is formally called the Republic of China, and at least officially consider the rest of China to still be the ROC and a breakaway (very large) region
There is an increasing trend for actual Taiwanese residents to think of themselves as Taiwanese - not ROK, but currently that isn't official.
Assuming I've not mislaid my facts the exception is the rather well-known Israeli-Palestine conflict (since there isn't a neutral regional body)
That is correct - any non-SC resolution is non-binding. Article X, with the eco-soc council is a good example of said non-binding resolutions, but it applies to all the other UN organs/bodies. (I'm actually unsure about the trusteeship council, since the UN was so much more heavily involved there, but there's no-one I can talk to, to ask them)

Thanks Nbb
Aha - I understand the Taiwan situation now (not something I had had much awareness of before, apart from in relation to plastic toy manufacturing...)

Good answers to good questions there – are you incorporating some of that information into the text?

I shall - I'm not holding off for dramatic effect, but currently am in dissertation writing stage.
Since said dissertation will keep my busy until the end of August I shall endeavour to find a procrastinating moment to add these in, rather than wait till then!

Right, I think I've covered most of the above suggested comments in one way or another - but my rather lengthy delay means I may well have something - please have a look and point out anything I've missed.
