Entry: UPDATE: Games Workshop's Forgeworld - A87809999
Author: Tavaron da Quirm - Arts Editor - U1314679
I wouldn't have written this if there wouldn't be an existing Entry about this topic ( A765623 ). As I don't think the Entry explains what Forgeworld is very well I just rewrote it. It's still a rather short Entry, there's not much more to say.

This Entry definitely explains Forgeworld better
I quite liked the bit in the original Entry about how the dice are used in battle, but otherwise it covers the key points well.
I'd perhaps like to see the last paragraph expanded a bit more - as well as enhancing the collection, I guess they add more variety to the basic Warhammer games than just using the standard kit all the time...

Thanks for reading!
Unfortunately I don't think an explaination of the game is really relevant in this Entry. People who want to know about that should rather read the Entries about Warhammer 40k and Warhammer Fantasy. I don't think it's good to explain everything again here. Because Forgeworld is not a separate game and the original Entry sounds like it is.
Yes, I should aybe expand that paragraph, you are right. I just didn't really have any ideas anymore.

Ah
This Update will definitely benefit from some links to other Entries

I thought I had done that, but obviously not. I should definitely add links. Also the Warhammer 40k Entry is not Edited yet.

Although this is an Update, would the entry benefit from being part of the Warhammer 40K Project, or is it more of a standalone topic?

It is a standalone topic, I think. They started with producing only stuff for 40k, but now also do models for Fantasy and their own Horus Heresy series.
This means it belongs to both Warhammer Fantasy and 40k.

Are there any more questions or things I should add?

Excellent changes - this is looking very good
Again, as this is an Update, I'll be thorough in reading it:
"The players set up a battlefield using terrain (buildings, rocks, trees, ...) and then sort out how well each item provides cover or if they are difficult to pass." - would it be better to say "or how difficult they are to pass"?
"whatever number of inches the models characteristic says they can" - "whatever number of inches the models' characteristics say they can"?
"Some of the kits cannot be built to a whole model" - as a whole model
"Therefore Forgeworld also sells separate books with rules for all of their models, but for some models rules are available as free download." - Therefore Forgeworld also sells separate books with rules for all of their models. For some models rules are available as a free download.
"modeling supplies." - modelling
"Prices range from a few pounds for small conversion kits, about 15 Pounds for special miniatures of a regular human size to many hundred Pounds for large pieces." - Prices range from a few pounds for small conversion kits, to about £15 for special miniatures of a regular warrior size to many hundreds of pounds for large pieces.
"A nice extra is that all(?) models on the Forgworld shop homepage have a link to the profile of their designer" - why the question mark there?
"aircrafts" - aircraft
What are mechs?
"1000 Pounds " - £1,000
"full color" - colour
"Especially the models for the (among fans) well known 'historic' characters are amazing collector pieces with lots of details. " - The models for the well-known (among fans) 'historic' characters are especially amazing collector pieces with lots of details.

Just as aside if you want to illustrate one of the pieces on Warhammer I have a picture of a rather nice (if I say it myself) chaos minotaur I painted a few years ago.

Looks like a good entry to me - I've never had any forgeworld stuff - I used to play 40k, and that was expensive enough!

Thanks tucuxii, I should be able to take a picture for this myself. I have Eldar stuff from Forgeworld - but not yet painted it. But thanks for the offer.
NBB, as I mentioned in the Entry Forgeworld is not really for buying large numbers of miniatures, it really would be too expensive. It's affordable if you jsut want 1 or 2 pieces.

Gnomon - time to move on Posted Aug 4, 2014
Since I'm not clear now on whether this will be subbed or not, I'll post here the mistakes that a sub would pick up.
started out with mainly producing --> started out mainly producing
special models for Warhammer 40k, which are not available
-- remove the comma
The collection is by far not as large as
-->
The collection is far smaller than
Horus, the favorite son of the human Emperor fell to Chaos
-- add a comma after Emperor.
