This is my response to the Create challenge for January. It is based on articles in the New Scientist, the Guardian website and that of the BBC.

A very informative read, and timelysmiley - ok

Although I am, of course, aware of the epidemic I did not know the details. One suggestion I will make is that on dates such as >In mid September, the United Nations...< might be better with the year added. Although it is clear in January, 2015 that it must be 2014 someone reading 5 or 10 years from now could be confused. Hopefully, by then, we can add a section about the final defeat of this catastrophe.

This is indeed excellent.

The only though I have is perhaps stress more the roles of the volunteers from the UK, US, France etc who have volunteered to go to infected areas, knowing the risks involved, to tackle the virus. 'Cos every last volunteer, smiley - doctor, smiley - nurse etc, is a smiley - hero (and braver than me).

Thanks GB, BB. smiley - smiley

I can put some links in,GB, now I've got the text up.
BB, I'll add something about the role of volunteers from UK etc. However, I was keen to stress that much of the front line care and the job of burying the bodies was done by local people.

Looks like an excellent entry smiley - smiley

I do feel that the Cubans deserve some praise - they sent the single largest amount of actual nurses and doctors to the region.

I've added bits about the contribution of volunteers and voluntary bodies from UK and France and the Cubans.

I've also added a few links.
