What an amazing weekend, and so beautifully written. I really enjoyed reading this, thanks Trig.
I've been terribly tempted to buy a narrowboat to live on, a floating apartment with a possibly changing view and an interesting community. It's still definitely on my 'hankering after' list of things to do. More so after reading this.

It was a truly excellent weekend, and I too have toyed with the idea of living on a boat. They can be very comfortable.
On the train in Wales on Friday, we passed a canal going over a high viaduct. Looked like fun. (I'm in London at the minute.)

Thanks a lot for sharing this with us Trig. Perhaps if we ever have an opportunity to get to Ireland again we'll try the boat option. The last time we went we rented a gypsy caravan and that was delightful!

MMF once lived on a boat. I think he's not quite so enthusiastic about it afterwards than he probably was before.
