Which, now looking at the tweets about the festavil, several people did, and at least one of the barstaff was offering free beer to the first three people to wave their towel at him Standing in a field, drinking beer and waving a towel about would have made the day even better, than just standing in a field and drinking beer

By the way, at work today I told the joke{riddle} What gets wetter as it dries.

We had such a brilliant day on Towel Day it has taken me up until now to catch up.

If you've got a Facebook account, you can see a sneaky preview of 42 towel photos*** that were sent to us from around the world. We had help from Rangewoman who collated quite a few of these on our behalf and also captioned them.

I was walking around a motorcycle rally in South Texas with my towel all day. None of my biker friends knew what Towel Day was.

The event brought back old researchers, spurred them to write for us, and for new members to sign up to h2g2. You may recognise a few regular h2g2 folk, even in disguise under their towels.
