"
I particularly like the 'how do I?' conversation, but who could possibly forget Mu and the blu-tack?"

2 great suggestions there - one displays the helpfulness of the h2g2 crowd, the other is a great insight into the dangers of a hyper-active imagination.

All right, I realize this is like an "eleventh hour" posting, but I've just blundered back in to HooToo after a regrettably longer-than-a-full-year absence. May I still suggest?

Another essential h2g2 phenom was Bubblish.
A celebration of, and honours to, its inventor
would be timely.

:-( favourite entries? I'm a bit late .. but there's http://h2g2.com/dna/h2g2/alabaster/F55017?thread=378581&skip=0&show=20 the thread where a small group of self-appointed shrinks and social workers tried to help a pregnant lesbian teenager who -ah, the miracles of the human mind- initially posed as a male sexual pervert annex real estate advisor. .. for those who read to the good part (about halfway) we apologise for the moderated entries. The girl did use rather harsh language indeed.

I clicked on one of the conversations on one of the pages in that archive. People were comparing IE4 with Netscape - Gosh - I had forgotten completely about Netscape.

The last versions of Netscape were basically Firefox, weren't they?

IE is being retired too - to be replaced by Microsoft Edge.

Following Apple's lead in naming its OS versions after surfing beaches, Microsoft are now going to name theirs after guitarists.
