I Wish
I wish I was a Thribbling Bird
Thribbling here and there
I wish I was a Dancing Newt
Dancing everywhere
From bush to bush on the river bank
With never a single care.
I wish I was a Drabbler's Blit
Forging a life in the sea
Yes - drabbling on the ocean bed
A life that's light and free
With many a pulchritudinous fish
Wishing it was me.
I want to be a Merchant's Gram
Sorting wheat from chaff
Or I could be a Sailor's Thram
- But that could be quite naff,
So I'll settle for a teacup
In a run-down roadside caff.
But I wish I was a Throttler's Hound
I wish, I wish, I wish
Think - never to have to be profound,
Just chasing mice and cats around
And Meaties in my dish..
