SABAH - Land of Power Cuts

0 Conversations

Country : Malaysia

Sabah is slowly earning the nickname "Land of Power Cuts". For decades its people have been plagued by power failures and blackouts, proving that SABAH ELECTRICITY Sdn Bhd has failed in its promise to stop the problem ever since it was privatised. Starting from April 21st this year, there have been power cuts almost everyday. Rumor has it that more will occur within the next 3 months. Lasting between 3 to 6 hours each day, the power cuts have cost people hundreds and even thousands of ringgit, especially in shops and companies. Not only do these power cuts slow down the state's development by about a decade, it might even spell doom to Sabah's tourism. Clinics and hospitals will suffer as well.
Will nothing be done to solve this growing problem? Or will Sabah be known to the world as "The Land of Power Cuts" all the way to the year 2020 - and beyond?
My advice to everyone in Sabah; stock up on lots of candles and batteries!

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
