Seahorse

STRANGELY STRANGE ( A brain on a spring )

I was lucky enough to see a seahorse once while on holiday abroad. Fascinating gentle creatures they are too whose strange birthing process comes as no surprise as fits their air of mystery. As indeed birth is a mystery. I love to watch young birds in their often strange set of clothes, sometimes even comical, but always a joy!
Who could not love the Humbug appearance of Great Crested Greeb chicks. Whoever has not seen one should find a photo immediately to make their day go with a smile and an aaaahhhhh!

Thanks SS, yes they fascinate me too. I think I mentioned in a previous article that I believed them to be a m,yth for years, as a child, and seeing them for real (ok, in a Sealife Centre) was lovely.

There are so many strange things about birth in wildlife I could have gone on writing forever, and I hadn't touched on birds, insects, invertebrates etc. Such a great big wonderful world, if we know where to look.
