The h2g2 Poem

1 Conversation

One of Clive the Flying Ostrich's Halloween pumpkin carvings

Hallowe'en

'Hubble, bubble, toil and trouble'

Those words filled me with dread,

Conjuring up images of cackling witches

And the walking dead.

Spooky graveyards hold their secrets

After dark, who dares to wander?

Only the brave or foolish

Risk their limbs torn asunder.

So maybe this Hallowe'en

You'll give it a miss.

Don't disturb restless souls,

And never trust those you kiss.

For last year I was happy

Then we had a lovers' tiff.

He found another lover

And pushed me off a cliff.

He cashed in my life insurance,

Now they've no money worries.

But he never bought me a headstone,

I'm not even in their memories.

But come this Hallowe'en

It's my turn for revenge.

The ghoulish party they're going to

Is being thrown by my new friends.

Witches, werewolves, vampires galore

Will feast to their delight.

I'll watch with my new partner,

Beelzebub, that's right!
