Reanimating old (possibly pre BBC but I'm not sure) accounts

Hi Gurus 
my mum is interested in rejoining h2g2. She had an account under the name DenyLou in about October 2006 and then later when she lost those details she had another.
She no longer uses the email address connected with the DenyLou account - do you have a way to restore it to her, or is it better to just sign up again with a new name?
