Being new on here, i still haven't found my way around the site yet. I think it would be rather handy if the site had a list for the more interesting articles/projects for the newer members. This could be a recommended/suggested reading page with links to the abovementioned articles or maybe just a tool bar along the side.

That's precisely what the 'Have you missed?' column on the front page is all about 
OK, it's not linked from there, but A799608 (in order of appearance) and A882713 (alphabetical order) would be the places that you're looking for.
