h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

My mum talks/makes peas and carrots the Belgian way (which is also the French way, but my gran is half Belgian, so as it's how her mother did it, for us it's Belgian).

All you do is sweat off some onions, the carrots and a bit of lettuce in a pot with some melted butter, with a good big pinch of pepper, then throw in the peas and cook them until they're wrinkly and cooked through.

I have no idea why it's good, but it is and as it's family tradition, I don't argue!
