Gender is fluid, rather than absolutely binary. Like I've said in the other thread about the term transgendered, a ts person often preoperatively is already in their desired gender. A ts person can also have both male and female characteristics, but to them being 'female' or 'male' surpasses gendered behavior. Gender and sex don't really make very much sense anyway: what matters is the person inside!
