Stephen Hawking (The guy so smart that he's in a wheelchair) Thought that the universe expands faster the farther out from the "Center" you get. With this in mind, the outer regions could be expanding faster than the speed of light, and if this was happening, this would mean that the light from those stars would never reach us...
