A Conversation for Norse Mythology

How exactly is a 'Rôle' different from a role? Is there some deep meaningful difference, or is it a typo? smiley - winkeye

Actually, the norse Gods in my stories aren't quite as violent as these ones - they weren't always at war - though there was certainly permanent conflict and oneupmanship. Maybe they'd been censored for children's sensitive eyes... smiley - smiley

My fave Norse God is, of course, Loki smiley - biggrin

The difference is that 'röle' is a word, whereas 'role' is a (very common) misspelling!

I know what you mean about not quite all Norse myths being so violent - but it's something of an exception to find one that isn't. Something like how if you ask a group of teenage boys to write about something dramatic, you'll get a set of responses that look just like you ask them to write about a fight!

hmm - just looked at a dictionary or two - mine has 'role' as main word and 'rôle' as a "variant". Been sensible if I'd have looked first and posted later though, eh? smiley - winkeye
