How long have you been in Melbourne?!!!!!

I'm sorry, but only a Sydneysider would call the paper the Sun Herald. In Melbourne we have, and have had for AT LEAST 10 years the Herald Sun (yes this may seem pedantic, but it is an important difference)

...and he completely forgot to mention The Argus - the favourite paper for all those in the 'gay nightlife ghetto' of Collingwood. [shudder]
Hey editors, how's about this gets re-titled 'Melbourne Restaurants' or 'Half-Empty French Restaurants in Melbourne'?

Family and I have been holidaying down there in winter for the past 4 years. Dragged some more family down from Canberra for two of them. Always book in January so we can get the same little place on the canal. Love the place.

And apologies for getting the miss wrong....
"I'm sorry I have a cold" 8^)

Sorry to hear you have a cold smiley - sadface
Most people holiday in Queensland when it's winter. The Ville isn't exactly the ahh warmest place!
Paynesville rocks in the summer, you should try. I live in the water then!

Yes, it was a quote - Monty Python, Parrot Sketch..... nevermind

And man I reckon it'd totally kick ass in summer. I swear, every morning I'd wake up, but on some bathers, walk out to the back windows/doors and just run down the yard, along the jetty and jump in!!!!! That's would soooo kick ass.

And if it wasn't too hot I'd ride over to this rather gorgeous beach I've found on the far side of Raymond Island...... Dammit, i wanna go there now!!! If it wasn't for uni exams and other stuff.... oh yeah, and peak time accommodation rates - those are a bit of a bugger too. smiley - smiley

But yes, totally kickasss town - eveyone go there.... or more to the point don't so it retains it's little town charm

Agreed!!!
I think that little spot you are prefering to could be the Raymond Is point. What side left or right, looking at it from where the ferry would be that is. I'm speaking right.
Late at night when the ferry stops the local climb up on it and jump!!
I'm usually too scared but this summer I'm going to be tough!

Where abouts in Melbourne do you live?
I agree that Sydneysiders would stuff something as simple as that up. I really don't like Sydney and many of its inhabitants.

I live in the way, way outer east of Melbourne in Lilydale (or close enough to anyway). In fact - the place is so outer outer east that all my mates at uni say it's the country - BUT IT'S NOT (just incase any of them come round here looking). Just cos I can see farms from my front door and cos you pass a paddock of cows on the train before you get to the station..... smiley - smiley

I used to live in Melbourne and would like to move back in a few years once I finish my course. I like Melbourne much better than Sydney because the general public are MUCH nicer. Mmmm...kinda think of it now that I've been here for a while, there are A FEW nice people in Sydney, but not that many smiley - winkeye

By the way, I considered that anything outside of the main areas of the eastern suburbs with some exceptions woop woop. The outer reaches of Lilydale included (hahaha)

Cat-Eyes: No..... why.... ?

It is not woop woop!!

I live closer to the city than Lilydale but still in the Eastern Suburbs!! Not as close as Box Hill, mind you my school is near there, but it still isn't woop woop!! :P
