The "Social History"

Hmm...

"The social history consists partly of accusing the patient of smoking like a chimney, drinking like a fish and taking a range of illicit substances, and so could hardly be described as being 'social'."

I've found, again and again, the only truthful answer from a medical professional to the question "Do you drink and smoke?" is

"Less than my doctor, a lot less than many nurses, and a hell of a lot less than most medical students!"

Slightly coloured by having been to a uni with a medical/nursing school....

But thank you for an Entry that has taught me how to fake it to perfection, if I ever feel the need to go into a hospital and put on a random white coat and stethoscope!
