Um, you seem to have the first couple of lines for the english translation of Frere Jaque the wrong way round, or at least not the order I always sung it smiley - smiley
Shame the peanut song isnt here, counts as a good travelling song.
Starts off as
"Found a peanut,
Found a peanut,
Found a peaaaaanut yesterday.
Found a peanut,
Found a peanut,
Found a peeeeanut yesterday.

It was mouldy,
It was mouldy...."

And so forth, with getting sick, dying and going to heaven and in some variations getting reincarnated. Anyone remember it?

Ooo, the "He jumped from twenty thousnad feet without a parachute..." is fun also.

>>Um, you seem to have the first couple of lines for the English translation of Frere Jaque the wrong way round<<

Nope, that is correct, that's that English version, rather than a translation. (F47997?thread=3450323) smiley - oksmiley - smiley

Mol - on the new tablet

bunnyfrog, ages ago I started on an entry of group songs with lots of verses (inspired by this very entry). Would Found a Peanut and the parachute song be suitable for inclusion do you think?

Really must get round to actually *writing* that entry ...

Quite possibly yes, they do have a tendancy to be sung in big rowdy groups or busloads of scouts. Would you like me to put the verses on your messages?
