Had Bach been born in the last century he would have been a Jazz musician.
A classically trained, Blind pianist, Alec Templeton wrote his tribute in a piece "Bach goes to Town" which was published by Francis, Day and Hunter in 1938.
Jaques Loussier, in the 20th century, also tapped Bach's resources and made beautiful, gentle, arrangements which were then recorded by his Trio.
Irita Kutchmy, composer of the Children's musical The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, which was published by J. Weinberger in 1985, has written a "Homage to Bach" Piano solo for the Left hand which is dedicated to her pianist Mother who lost part of the R.side function due to an accident.
The "natural" musician appreciates the endless, multi-faceted, extemporization in all of Bach's works.
