Also, research published in J.Alzheimer's Disease (Jan '06) (from expts conducted on mice) said thatapple juice can protect those who're prone to developing AD. Scales up to 2-4 apples/day for humans. Speculated that apples contain high levels of anti-oxidants that counteract effects of oxidative stress, which causes cell damage that contributes to memory loss. Mice who were fed a standard diet supplemented with apple juice performed significantly better in maze tests before having brain tissue examined
