A Conversation for The Neolithic Revolution - How Farming Changed the World

Greatest Revolution in the History of Mankind

Post 1

The idea that the Neolithic development of farming is the greatest revolution in the history of mankind is not true. Certain species of leaf-cutting ants got to that stage without having anything like the brainpower of man, and several aeons before him. Mankind would have eventually got there too - but sheer plod does not constitute a revolution.

Mankind has had two revolutions that supercede all others and both were concerned with aiding and expanding the power of his mind and brain.

The first was Gutenberg's invention of movable type.

The second, the digitization of type.
