A Conversation for Truth

To destroy or not to destroy false truths

I have a problem with the statement that all religions that claim to be the "true-truth" want to destroy all the other "false-truths". Perhaps this entry would have best been written by someone who has studied all claims of "truth". While it is true that most religions from Christian to Krishna have done terrible things for their beliefs, the basis for these wars and horrendous deeds are often unfounded in the scriptures of the given religion. I am a Christian, thus I am follower of Christ. The Bible, search as you want, says nothing of warring for the Christian cause. Yes, we are to love God and hate sin, BUT we are to love sinners as Christ did. Christ never said to detroy those who believe differently than us, but rather show them love and witness of the things God has done. That's it! That's the great lesson of the New Testament that generations of clerics have royally screwed up. Being a Christian, I fully believe in absolute truth, but I don't believe that finding it involves death. Instead, I believe it involves a great deal of life...eternal life through Christ actually.smiley - biggrin
