Gnomon - time to move on

The picture actually shows two parts of the Bayeux Tapestry. The star is reckoned to be Halley's Comet, but it did not appear above William on the original tapestry.

That's correct, Gnomon, the comet actually appears above Harold in the tapestry. We Community Artists have to tread warily on two counts -- the first is copyright, which I don't think applies to the tapestry but ~might~ to a photo of it, and the second is of simply copying from photos.

I clearly based the elements of this graphic on the tapestry, and used Painter digital brushes to simulate an embroidered effect, but drew the knight and the comet together as my own composition. That comet is, to modern eyes, pretty much the signature of the tapestry, which is why I brought it front and center for the circular graphics. smiley - smiley
