Wonderful entry!
I have taken part in a few operas in my time, and got to be part of Cavaradossi's firing squad in Tosca which was fun (largely because the tenor who played him had alienated the rest of the cast with his strops, so it was a pleasure to shoot him). I have also lamented Dido's death, which is a surprisingly touching end.

Oh, I love Purcell and Dido's lament! I'm fascinated by backstage stories of opera. I've heard some great stories of the Wexford Festival from a young singer I know whose career is just taking off.
I can see that shooting Cavaradossi would be quite satisfying!
