Entry: Supernatural-TV Series - A60034808 Author: Serephina - U191719
First entry after a 2 year break , please be gentle
Welcome back Serephina. Good to see you in PR once again As I said in the original PR thread, I knew you'd be back sooner or later.
Thanks!
Love this series, you've not included the grandfather, who was in league with crowly at one point trying to catch the master vampire? And wasn't sam and dean's mother also a hunter?
Aha! I knew I would forget someone! Though it could be a little hard to add those 2 without dropping any spoilers I think.
An enjoyable article. I must admit I've not watched the series although my wife has. There are a few minor spelling mistakes which can be easily corrected later, however one thing I was particularly puzzled by was when you wrote 'Castiel - Not appearing season 4'. Do you mean he does not appear in season 4 or until series 4? The other thing I was confused by was the link to the article on Winchester rifles when you first mentioned the surname Winchester. Were they deliberately named after the Winchester rifle rather than the city that was the capital of England from circa 686-1066?
<BB<
Thanks! I need to get some new glasses I think! As for the rifles, it seemed a good a link as any for the name, would you suggest an alternative?
As the series seems particularly interested in weapons from that era, especially the Colt, I had wondered whether they were deliberately named after the rifle as the writer appears interested in early American weapons.

Like h5ringer, I was very pleased to see this back in PR. Apart from any really minor nitpicks, is this more or less complete and ready for selection?

I personally am very happy with it. However, I've not really watched the series, so cannot comment if there is anything else that could be mentioned. But it appears to be very thorough and well-written by Serephina to me.

That was my opinion too, also not having ever seen it. However, this was in EGE workshop and Peer Review before, so I think it has had time for feedback previously.
Serephina and nice to see you here again!
Thanks!
I need to triple check for typos etc but apart from that I think I'm happy with it.
Ok, since you're looking for typos:
Emmy's --> Emmys
favorite --> favourite
agendsa -> agenda
theif --> thief
artifacts --> artefacts
rumors --> rumours
enscribed --> inscribed
symols --> symbols
scences --> scenes
ID's --> IDs
walkman --> Walkman
posessing --> possessing
About rumours and favourites: Isn't this an American TV show? If the researcher is from the US would that be OK under the new guidelines or is UK spelling with the us added still necessary?
I agree, as long as the rest of this Entry is written in US English I have no problem with words such as favorite etc - but they need to be consistent throughout.
I thought we were only going to use American spelling in cases where the Entry has such an American 'voice' that use of British spelling would be an intrusion.
I don't want to reopen a here and reignite the messy convos we had previously, but if this is not to be the case then we need an appropriate update to the Sub-editors' guidelines to indicate when to apply British spelling and when American.
Darling Serephina is British, although she would prefer to be cosmopolitan
from her adopted mum...
lil xx

In this case, the piece should be in English English.
I agree with h5ringer's point - we need to be totally consistent with our policies and therefore should ensure that the guidelines are easy to understand and implement.
If anyone has time to send a suggested rewrite of the guidelines in question, we could update them.
Sorry yup I'm indeed English ..as common as you get but I spend a lot of time talking to friends in America and Canada so must have picked up some bad habits
Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
