Hello! Sorry I've left this go for awhile. I intended to make some edits to it so it sounded less of an advert, but I don't think I've made much progress. Been really busy lately. Originally my intention was to focus on the free lunch. I think that seemed a bit slim as a premise, especially if a reader wasn't familiar with Costco, so the store information got thrown in. I have every intention of coming back to this, but my time is really at a premium at the moment. And for the Eds, no, from my perspective it's not ready. I haven't re-read it lately so I can't specifically comment, but as for getting the soda first, we've never encountered a problem doing so. It sounds like our stores are set up roughly the same, but I did specify US in the title because I wasn't sure of local access globally. In th US, we have to go in by the greeter and tell them we'd like to go to the cafe which is on the 'exit' side (along with customer service and the toilets). We've eaten at the cafe first then taken the drinks onto the sales floor without any problems, no one's ever even looked sideways at us. But I can't vouch for other countries. I never thought of telling the greeter you'd just like to have a look around... I'll have to add that when I update (thanks!). Would definitely work once or twice, but not on a regular basis. You get samples of wine? (Wine demos consist of displaying bottles of the different varieties, but no free sips )I promise I am coming back to this! Thanks for everyone's comments!
Yep, a rather nice thimble full of Chardonay and a piece of cheese on a mini cracker on my last visit.
Let us know as soon as you think this is ready broelan, and we can accept it for sub-editing.
This entry has potential, but I don't think it is quite there yet. Are you still working on it, Broelan? <BB<
I haven't forgotten about it. I just really haven't had the time to tweak it. If you'd like me to remove it until I have more time I can do that. Or I can leave it here to gather (dust) umm, comments in case anyone wandering by has something to contribute.
I'd rather it stayed here Broelan if you are still committed to it. It is so near to being taken to the next stage. I'm just glad to see you around again!
I like this article - it is a helpful tip if you are hungry in America, but as far as I know it doesn't apply to the UK Costcos (although my experience is limited to a couple of visits to the one in Reading). There are a couple of minor spelling errors (but who isn't guilty of them now and then?) As this is an American article about American stuff, I believe that US English and spelling now applies under the new rules, so you do not need to worry too much about 'centre/center'. You mention a 'polish sausage'. Is the sausage very shiny and highly polished, or do you mean a Polish sausage? 'Pepperoni' has two ps in the middle, 'demonstrater' should be 'demonstrator'. And please forgive my ignorance, but when I re-read this I did ask 'what is a churro?' I see you answered it in the conversation as 'A Mexican desert', but I do think this explanation should be in the article too. A think with a little push we can get this where it belongs. <BB<
