Data:

biro There are around 300,000 cases of CP/yer in the UK
biro In 999 cases/1000 CP is a trivial illness (Prof Adam Finn. Paediatriciacian, Bristol University Medical School)
biro Most people make a full recovery, but several hundred suffere complications such as pneumonia, blood poisoning, infection by flesh-eating bacteria.
biro CP claims up to 50 lives/year, 40 of them children.

There are concerns that vaccinating ahgainst CP could cause an up surge of shingles in adults.
