Cloud and Aeris, my finches, went back to the planet today. K and I were sat on the kitchen floor for over an hour crying ourselves stupid, I still can't believe they've gone. Daft, I know, but still, they were part of our family. Sleep well my beautiful little ones. 
Mags, that is not daft at all - losing something you love is sad.  
They were a part of your family, love.... You howl if you want to!  I'm still crying for Tammy... lil xx
It's always so very sad to lose pets.  Nothing daft in crying.
Big from me too. Nothing wrong with loving things and crying when you lose them.
 Losing pets, as others have said, is losing a member or members of your family. Its heartbreaking. 
Maggie, so sorry for the loss of your feathered family members. And a to Lil for the loss of poor old Tammy.
