.... and not even a good one at that!  Well, you know how it goes, don't you?  Someone says something to another. A N Other passes it on with a little twist.. and so it goes - eventually it resembles nothing like the truth  Then there is the deliberate lie. Meant to deceive. Sometimes to hurt...  As one here says, 'say it often enough, it becomes the new truth' and he should know  Have a nice day!  lil xx

Good morning lil! have some  and a  Chinese whispers are weird aren't they. My mum was upset just last night by such an event. One of her best friends had told another relative something innocuous, who'd then repeated it to someone else, and then it got passed to yet another and later to yet another who told my mum. My mum was  completely horrified by the story - as it bore no relation to truth whatsoever.In this case, we know all those who were involved and none of them have any malice in them - they're all friends. But it illustrates how stories change slightly in the telling until they get a life of their own. It's a whole different  kettle of fish when the people involved are just stirring because they have little else to do, or are paranoid? Anyway - more  Mmm?

Yes, Chinese whispers are made so much better if you've a face full of doughnut when you're doing the whispering. 
Chinese whispers and stuff like that - allow to go in one ear and straight out the other they only feed negative.....
<whispers>Its probably fortunate for some that I can resist saying what I want to (backed up by evidence naturally  )in order to stick to my principle of not feeding trolls etc.Instead I'll leave a <cappiwotsit> and some  and I'll depart to get ready to deal with real life issues. I have a hospital appt this morning, having so far had a CT Scan and after today having a Gastroscopy, (camera down throat job). So you see, I really cannot be doing with the nonesense from what is a virtual world when my real world has some potentially serious medical issues that need dealing with.    ttfn. *finishes *Yusshhh!... *splutter crumbs* 'Scusemeee..  Aaa'anyway... Seems something happened to Hubby's nephew, who's sister obviously had phoned her mates about it, then went in facebook to await more news. She just never thought of phoning her father, who was oblivious about it until Friday. And then he only found out because his niece had come home from holiday and was reading her facebook messages... ... Who then phoned her mum... Who then phoned her brother.. and so it went! Seems the lad had been injured in work when a stack of newspapers fell on him. Rumour: Steve is in a head brace. His neck was crushed when the papers fell on his head. Fact: Steve is in a hard collar. He's torn a muscle in his neck/shoulder. The papers fell against his neck, not on his head. Rumour: Steve is flat on his back in hospital. Fact: Steve is currently at home being pandered to by his girlfriend. Rumour: Ex wife tried to phone ex husband. Fact: Not a dickie was heard! We live just around the corner from them. Literally in the next street. If there was a problem in contacting the father they could have come to us. As I said 'Chinese Whispers and a down right lie.... '

When it comes to family rumours I go to our 97 year old matriarch.She's the sharpest member of the family and if she doesn't know then it's not true.
