The one of you and me is lovely, but we look like an old married couple.blush

I've looked at your photos a few times already. They're fantastic.

I guess you are right with what you say about the photo of us. biggrin

Hey, at least we don't look like an old unhappily married couple. laugh

Btw, if you want any photos blobbed for the meet report, do you think you could send them until tomorrow evening?

I've sent off my Meet Report. I just included the actual text of the report, I didn't add the banner at the top or the links at the bottom that you normally do, as I haven't got a template for meet reports.

Wonderful report, many thanks. smooch
Don't worry about the header and footer, I had saved a template because I did mine this morning. I would have sent it to you, but I was away all day.
We're still maniacally busy setting up the new home for my mother in law, but it is eventually getting better, and I hope we'll see the end of it soon. smiley

Hi Bel. I was very touched by your obituary for Pedantic Bar Steward. I didn't know the man at all, but your article really introduces me to the wonderful person he was.

I hope you don't mind me pointing out one tiny typo in it:

Thank you, Gnomon. hug

I don't dare going to edit it, as it will vanish again (damn filter) until a mod has looked at it (again). Please remind me in a week. smiley

Hi Bel.

I believe you want to try your hand at being a sub-editor. With all your experience of editing The Post, you shouldn't find too many problems with sub-editing for the Edited Guide. Even though you're not a native speaker, you have an amazing command of English!

So let's try it for a bit and see how you get one. I'll make you into a sub-editor and give you a couple of entries to work on. You might find my A482771 Guide to Sub-Editing useful.

If you decide you don't like it, please let me know and I will take the entries back. Don't Return them yourself, as this is only for when they are completed, and moves them on to the next stage in the publishing process.

OK, you're a sub-editor now. I've given you these:

A87709666 STV - the Single Transferable Vote
A87709396 How to Prevent a War Using Ordinary Household Objects - Jean Robert-Houdin and the Marabouts

You should also organise with Lanzababy about getting access to the Noesis subs' forum so that you can request more entries, but don't worry about that for the moment - just try these ones out and see what you think of it.

Hi Gnomon, thanks. smiley I used to be a sub-editor for quite some time (BBC time) but stopped when I first stepped in for Skankyrich, then took on the Post. Now that I've passed on the baton to Dmitri I'm happy to go back to subbing. Your link to your sub.editing page is on my PS (and has been there for a long while now). smiley

Access to the Noesis forum is fine, too, because I signed up for going abck to subbing back when the forum was created, so there's nothing to stop me now that you've given your OK. winkeye

Did the Robert-Houdin, just waiting for Dmitri to get back to me for a couple of queries. Doies the 'return entry' work as it should?

Sorry, Bel, I'm not very organised yet - I missed your request for another entry to sub-edit until today. I've sent you one about the Olympics.

Can I have another entry? Oh, and could you take care of this:

Your new entry for subbing is A87725442. I've fixed the Rodgers and Hammerstein thing.
