Good byeeeee, don't cryeeeee, wipe a tear, baby dear, from your eyeeeee.... After two fantastic years working on h2g2, the time has come for me to move on to another project within the BBC. I'll be checking back to this page every now and again, but if you're got any questions or queries about h2g2, I'd advise you to go and have a word with Natalie or Jimster instead. They've always been much cleverer than me anyway. This is the last survivor of the SS Nostromo... signing off...

Paully and h2g2 Well first of all, I'd better explain that I'm one of the bizarre individuals who actually work full-time for the BBC helping to run this website, h2g2. There are three team-members at the moment - our gorgeous producer Natalie, the very slightly demented Jimster, and little ol' me. I joined the team for a few months in April 2004, and ended up being made a full-time part of the team in July of the same year. I'm thoroughly enjoying being a part of the liveliest, most dynamic community anywhere on the internet - and hasn't it been a heck of a year so far with the launch of the movie of The Hitch Hiker's Guide To the Galaxy and of course the wonderful arrival of h2g2 Mobile? My first ever Edited Guide entry was on King Henry II, and I've also written entries on Gnosticism and co-authored a guide to the world's greatest-ever pop group, ABBA! After spending a year tinkering with other people's entries I thought I'd better get off me bum and write another one - Upstairs, Downstairs has just recently hit the front page. I've actually been working for the BBC for four years now, on a wide variety of different projects within the New Media division. Most recently I was one of the team responsible for the celebrity webchats you may have seen taking place with at the end of TV shows (you know, the "log on now to chat to Celeb X" thing!). I was lucky enough to meet everyone from the cast of EastEnders, Sir David Attenborough, Gillian Anderson, the Sugababes, Louis Theroux - even the Cheeky Girls! Fings Wot I Like There's very little I love more than slumping down in front of the telly to watch a classic TV show or fillum on DVD. In fact, I've used my obsessive knowledge of pop culture to write three books so far - one on the movies of Alfred Hitchcock, one on the first two Matrix films, and one on the American funeral-home series Six Feet Under. I've recently finished spending all of my spare time writing another book 'TV Heaven', which will be published in November 2005. I love going to the movies, going out to pubs and clubs, and I'm beginning to get a wee bit of a reputation for myself as a mean DJ for parties, club nights, weddings, that kind of thing. Best tracks to get everyone up and dancing currently include Can You Feel It by Michael Jackson, Jump Around by House of Pain, and You Spin Me Round by Dead or Alive. So, that's probably enough about me for now... how 'bout you?
